This lecture will be delivered by Professor Richard Wilson, the Head of West Midlands QI and Professor in Health Informatics
The focus on the quality of healthcare services has never been greater, nor has the need to deliver services more efficiently. At the same time we have never had more data available, so why do we find it so difficult to measure and describe the quality of hospital services that satisfies patients, clinicians and commissioners? Debate in the scientific journals is often inconclusive as to the reliability of models. Professor Richard Wilson will talk about how we need to develop an approach using both quantitative and qualitative data available on the NHS in England.
